Welcome to the home page of the ASCD, Inc (the Australian Society for Computerised Dentistry). Like the ISCD, this group was formed to promote the use and discussion of Computers in Clinical Dentistry. Most members are users of the CEREC CADCIM/CAM system, manufactured distributed and sold by Sirona Dental Systems Australia. If you're a dentist, the Membership page has details about joining the ASCD.   The Australian Society for Computerised Dentistry (ASCD) was established  during the 2002 CEREC® Masters Symposium in Sydney. The Society was an initiative of a working party of interested Cerec users from all states of Australia. The ASCD has established links by affiliation with the International Society for Computerised Dentistry, the ISCD and will be an ADA Inc Affiliated Society in 2006. While Cerec® is the inspiration behind the ASCD, the object of the group is to foster interest and advance expertise in all aspects of computerised dentistry. Using the Internet as the primary means of communication between the members is a strong focus for the society Through creation of the ASCD, we: Provide the society newsletter, ByteWise, which is delivered to you four times a year Stage continuing education, and host web-based information exchange for computerised dentistry in Australia. This includes and an annual conference, which has come to be knows as "CadCamCon" Provide this website, www.ASCD.org.au, with information for both dentists and patients The Yahoo-Groups-based Australian Cerec Users Group “AuSCD” is also a benefit of membership. We have so far been able to enrol more than 110 Cerec® users in both Australia. We encourage you to support us. The fees for 2007 are $AUD155 plus GST. This includes affiliation with and corporate membership of the ISCD.
