Before & After

Milled ceramics are used in a variety of situations to restore many different defects in teeth. Here's a sample of some typical scenarios.

In this example, a molar tooth has previously been patched together with silver alloy and a plastic filling; the old filling material is removed and the tooth is shaped and smoothed:you can even see where the silver ions stained the surface of the tooth; this will be completely covered by the new milled ceramic restoration:

Here's another molar and a premolar:

These new restorations help prevent fracture and will last a long time:

These two teeth have suffered from multiple fillings, breakdown and fracture over an extended period. These ceramic crowns, made chair-side, will prolong the useful life of these teeth by many years.

This transformation was completed using Chairside Ceramic techniques:

This is an example of a milled bonded ceramic crown for a badly fractured premolar, completed using IPS e.max lithium disilicate material.

A subtle but effective improvement.

This is an example of using bonded chairside ceramics to restore six upper front teeth:

In these pictures, 'the hardest job in dentistry', matching a single upper front tooth has been accomplished with a crown made in a single appointment:

The following photographs show a full lower reconstruction using bonded ceramics:

Metal/ceramic crowns can now be replaced with modern ceramic materials that look like real teeth:

This lady in her early fifties wanted to have a more "natural" look to her teeth. Some teeth were treated with 'full coverage' restorations (also known as ceramic crowns or 'caps')  to create a better contact and remove a food trap in her upper right, and veneers were placed on other upper front teeth deliver the result seen here; this was completed in a single day.

These three teeth have had bonded porcelain restorations placed in a single visit using the Cerec system.
